Taki

Taki

TAKI is an awesome vacation & tourist identify in West Bengal under Hasnabad police station of the Basirhat subdivision in North 24 Parganas district on the banks of river Ichhamati. It is serene place is ideal for a weekend trip. Taki is a cozy and quiet retreat, just a two-hour journey from Kolkata. It is in the bank of Ichhamati stream. On the other part of Ichamati stream is Khulna, district of Bangladesh. Taki is the area of a number of zamindars. Most of the zamindar buildings are in a decayed condition. There is hardly any maintenance from the successors of the zamindars or from the local authorities. On the last day of Durga Puja, immersion of Durga idols attracts thousands of visitors from both the countries.

HOW TO REACH:

From Sealdah Station take Hasnabad Local train and get down at Taki Road Station. It is a two to three hour journey. After getting down at Taki Road station takes a cycle van and reaches the hotels (It’s a 10 minute ride and the charges are around Rs.25 per van). You can also take a bus from Esplanade or drive your car to Taki. By road it will take about an hour or two.

WHERE TO STAY:

There are primarily 4 places to stay:
SUHASINI GUEST HOUSE,
NIPENDRA ATHITHISALA,
TAKI GUEST HOUSE,
TAKI TOURIST BUNGLOW.

Taki has one of the earliest Ramakrishna Missions. Taki Govt High School is more than 250 decades of age. The Taki town municipality has also designed a small Sunderbans made up of the plants - Sundari, Golpata etc which are rarety and can be commonly seen in seaside Sunderbans of West Bengal.

The island, propagate over 129 miles, is mostly inhabited. It took around half an hour to arrive at the isle by a mechanized vessel. On the way you can identified the remains of Zamindar Roychoudhury’s home, being ingested by the flow now. The region is perfect for a eat outside and the Hasnabad Panchayat Samity preserves a variety of eat outside areas and a two-storeyed bungalow on the region. The Ichhamati flow is engulfing the region at quite a rate.

Also visit Taki Rajbari. & the long boat rides on the river Ichhamati will surely be a pleasant experience.

The introduced riverfront near Jetty Ghat would wear a fun look in the evenings with curbside cafes and stores selling toys and games and ornaments. Taki town municipality, established on Apr 1 1869, preserves these features.

From Taki you can visit- Hasnabad, located on the bank of the river Dansha, Hingalganj or Sandeshkhali- on the rivers Yamuna and Kalindir. & Rajnagar-lonely island where you will see the Ganga Mandir and fishermen at work.
